Ian Bremmer – Geopolitics Guru & Thought Leader
Ian Bremmer is a leading political scientist, founder and president of Eurasia Group—the world’s top political risk consultancy— and the visionary behind GZERO Media, an online platform for global affairs. He serves as editor-at-large for Time, hosts the acclaimed weekly show GZERO World, and teaches applied geopolitics at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. He’s also a senior fellow at Harvard Kennedy’s Belfer Center.
Born in 1969 in Chelsea, Massachusetts, Bremmer grew up in modest circumstances. A transformative trip to the Soviet Union in 1986 as an undergrad sparked his fascination with geopolitics. He holds degrees from Tulane and Stanford and has authored eleven influential books—such as The J Curve, The End of the Free Market, Us vs. Them, and The Power of Crisis—examining global trends, populism, state capitalism, and political risk.
A dynamic speaker, Bremmer distills complex international dynamics into clear, actionable insights. His work emphasizes “the G-Zero world”—a leaderless era and the rise of the geopolitical recession—and explores how technology, pandemics, and climate shape global risk and opportunity
