Jaclyn North

Jaclyn North

Jaclyn North from “American Idol” made it to Hollywood!

The music Jaclyn North writes and loves to perform has been described as a smooth blend of southern rock and traditional country, with a sultry kiss of blues. Chuck McKinley of KKUS in Tyler, TX put it best when he described Jaclyn’s style as a “controlled, reckless abandonment.” Whether she’s performing down on Lower Broadway or at writer’s nights in Nashville, Jaclyn is earning fans and making friends in Nashville. With a real clear vision for who she is as an artist, Jaclyn is remaining true to that girl, the girl who has had to fight for the many chances she’s been given, the girl who understands the power of standing your ground and not doubting yourself. Boris Brott

Boris Brott

Thousands of people across corporate America have heard Boris Brott’s interactive presentation — he draws comparisons between business organizations and symphony orchestras. Both have common goals, each must perform in harmony to achieve those goals, and each continually strives for perfection. Often, both attempt to be innovative and creative.

Boris draws out the juxtaposition of teamwork and leadership the need for creativity within an organization; the joy of communication and the achievement of success. All are explored through the medium of music.

During his 25-minute presentation, these analogies are enhanced with slides and video. The audience hears of Beethoven’s struggle, his quest for perfection…brief passages from some of Beethoven’s best known works. Then, it’s time to play together…

Boris instructs the audience to reach under their chairs where they will find a tonebar — a musical instrument with a mallet. The audience has been divided into five specific notes. After “rehearsing” and enjoying the levity and excitement, the audience is prepared to play Beethoven’s Ode to Joy. Boris turns to the video screen, gives a signal, and a full symphony orchestra begins to play. At the appropriate point, he turns to the audience and “conducts” them in this informative, educational, and fun-filled presentation. The audience is thrilled to be playing a signifant part and to make music under the direction of a symphony conductor. Audiences and corporate executives find it a memorable and unique presentation. East Village Opera Company

eastvillageoperacompany

The concept of the East Village Opera Company is totally fresh, but not unprecedented in pop. In 1985, for example, former punk-rock impresario Malcolm McLaren released Fans, an album of “hip-hopera” that brought funky beats and electronic programming to the works of Puccini and Bizet. But EVOC is a whole new thing: an integrated, eleven-strong working band dedicated to rocking the opera and electrifying the classics, as the ensemble has been doing to spectacular effect ever since its New York stage debut in the spring of 2004.
